Taking to Twitter to announce the news, Chang Peng Zhaothe co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Binance Exchange said his efforts to drive mainstream adoption of digital currencies did not stop when obtained the license to operate in Kazakhstan about 2 weeks ago.

With Central Bank Digital Currencies Now representing a major boost for major monetary authorities around the world, Kazakhstan has achieved a significant milestone with its Digital Tenge by launching its pilot test in a controlled environment with real users and traders.

According to Zhao, the claims about the integration arose from successful negotiations with the First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, Berik Sholpankulov, and the Head of the Center for Payments and Technology, Binur Zhalenov.

“We present the #BNB Community chain to discuss the tests that make up your CBDC (Digital Tenge) with @BNBCHAINZhao said in the short Twitter thread.

The cryptocurrency veteran did not give detailed indications on how and what the Central Bank of Kazakhstan will do or to what extent the innovators and builders of the BNB chain ecosystem will launch real-world use cases with Digital Tenge. Zhao also noted that he is eager to see how things will develop under the proposed integration in the short term.

“I expect NBK to prepare CBDC use cases to see how they could be integrated into #BNB Chain to bridge the gap between traditional banking and the crypto ecosystem,” he said.

Binance’s global expansionary drive has recognized Kazakhstan as very strategic in the long term. From the meeting between the country’s president Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), in order to obtain its license, Binance has stuck to the view that the country driving digital transformation can offer to the users of its ecosystem.
