Zuckerberg testifies that the fitness app is not key to the development of the metaverse

SAN JOSE, Calif. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told a federal court Tuesday that he doesn’t see fitness apps as key to his plan to build the metaverse.

When asked by his lawyers during a court hearing whether the prospect of Meta not having its own VR fitness app kept him up all night, Zuckerberg said no.

“Fitness was probably the 4 or 5 use case that I thought would be important,” he told the metaverse build. Categories like games, social communication and productivity would rank higher, she said. And, Zuckerberg said, Meta will most likely prioritize building the social apps.

“We’re going to try to build the core social experiences,” Zuckerberg said. “That’s our DNA.”
