After releasing early alpha for its user-generated metaverse builder tool, Finland-based Yahaha Studios impressed two big Asian investors , Alibaba and Tencent, to land $40 million in Series A+ funding.
The round was co-led by Singapore-based Temasek and Chinese tech giant Alibaba, following a previous $50 million Series A for Yahaha, which has more than 150 employees spread across Helsinki, Shanghai and Seoul.
Funding will go toward growing the product, community, workforce, and ecosystem of Yahaha, whose alpha testing campaign has already recruited more than 100,000 gaming content creators.
