Xborg, Swissborg’s web3 gaming organization, announced on February 1 that it will launch a web3 esports league titled Xtreme Championship Series with a prize pool of $100,000 USDC.
The league will include web3 games Axie Infinity, The Harvest, Gods Unchained, Spider Tanks, and ev.io with no entry fee or other barriers to entry. Three rounds of monthly qualifiers will be followed by a championship round that will be streamed live on Xborg’s Twitch channel.
The esports league will be accompanied by a 15-episode behind-the-scenes series that will follow players, organizers, and developers as they battle through each round.
XBorg CEO Louis Regis said:
“For those outside of Web3, the general perception is that there are no high-quality Web3 games to play. With this tournament we intend to change that perception. We strongly believe that competitive Web3 gaming has arrived and is here to stay.”
The tournament begins on March 6 and will run until the end of July. Player registrations are now available through the Xborg website.
