Will the metaverse ever be the result expected by Meta?
That has become a key question of late, with the company pouring billions into a long-term project that, so far, still looks largely experimental and seems unlikely to become a replacement for online interactions as we know them.
This image, shared by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, quickly became a representation of the company’s failure, or at least a challenge in the space. Because while Meta’s VR development has been truly amazing (affordable, stand-alone VR headsets are a revolution that many seem to be overlooking), the practical value of the space simply isn’t there. And as time goes on, it seems that Zuck might have been wrong on this one, or at the very least, that he might have gone too soon with his metaverse…
