South African mobile network operator MTN Group wants to take advantage of its extensive network of 34.5 million subscribers in Africa to lead the way in popularizing the metaverse on the continent. Present in 17 African countries, the company has announced a new metaverse platform -altMTN- and a virtual music concert in November to help unlock the potential of immersive experiences.
It is now partnering with The Mic: Africa, a networking platform for African music, art and culture, to host the continent’s first metaverse music concert.
