Web3 Researcher Explains ETH Shanghai Upgrade Withdrawal Process
- The removal of ETH is dynamic based on the number of existing validators.
- Exiting validators will go through two stages and wait 27 hours or 36 days.
- The Beacon Chain staking contract now has over 16 million ETH tokens.
Earlier today, a Web3 researcher with the username WestieCapital on Twitter shared a step-by-step tutorial on the upcoming Shanghai upgrade to the blockchain. The update, which will arrive in March of this year, will allow the funds wagered to be withdrawn for the first time.
WestieCapital noted that Ethereum’s withdrawal duration is dynamic based on the number of validators leaving the network at any given time, in contrast to other proof-of-stake (PoS) networks such as Cosmos, where the period is fixed at 21 days.
1/ Unlike other PoS networks like Cosmos that have a fixed withdrawal period for participants, set at 21 days, Ethereum is dynamic based on how many validators are leaving at any given time.
