If there was a turning point for Meta in recent months, it was probably Mark Zuckerberg posting a single metaverse selfie with his expressionless avatar and clipart of world landmarks behind him. The image went viral, causing Meta to go on the defensive talking about future improvements to their main metaverse, Horizon Worlds.

But all we have is the present and what actually exists on the Meta platform right now. And I just watched another video that should kill any lingering confidence that what Mark Zuckerberg is building here is actually the future. Meta Horizon posted this tweet this week about an “event” occurring within the Metaverse in which an unseen Godzilla has stepped foot in… a Wendy’s. In the Wendyverse.
