One of my favorite items from the music row Publication Archives is an article written in 1983 by the magazine’s founder, david ross, titled “The computer is coming”. I love thinking about how different the world and our music industry was back then and how the people on Music Row must have felt reading that piece. The article gave a detailed overview of personal computers, the benefits, and their pending arrival in the music industry while predicting disruption to the industry’s normal way of doing business. Maybe 40 years from now, someone will remember too East item in a similar haphazard fashion, imagining a time before the world had fully plunged into the metaverse.
