The developers seem to think that Fortnite, Epic Games’ cross-pollinating whirlwind of pop culture, is the game best positioned to offer us a glimpse of the metaverse, the Game Developers Conference has revealed. The results of GDC’s 11th annual State of the Industry survey were released this week. The survey asked more than 2,300 developers to get their opinions on contentious issues facing gaming, ranging from unionization and bullying to, erm, blockchain.
