Virtual reality provides an efficient method for marketers to give consumers an idea of what they can expect from an experience before purchasing, since most of their customers want to purchase experiences rather than items.
The well-known online travel company Booking.com conducted a survey with 24,179 participants from 32 countries. The survey results indicated that passengers had a strong interest in experiencing sites digitally before deciding on their itinerary.
43% of those who participated in the survey said unequivocally that they intended to make use of virtual reality to guide their decision-making.
