Sony builds amazing virtual worlds for its PlayStation games, and now the company is starting to get into metaverse world-building more seriously, too. At CES 2023, the company showed a brief look at a metaverse experience it’s building with Manchester City soccer club. But so far, Sony apparently isn’t bringing the same high-quality, must-play approach it’s known for to this soccer-centric hangout.
The experience, which Sony and Manchester City call a “proof of concept”, will allow fans to take part in activities in a virtual version of the team’s Etihad Stadium with their own personalized avatars.
