Snap CEO Evan Spiegel isn’t exactly impressed by rival Mark Zuckerberg’s grand vision of the metaverse.
In fact, like many techies and geeks, he’s not entirely sure of its purpose.
When asked at Code Conference on Wednesday about Facebook founder and CEO’s vision of the metaverse, Spiegel dryly joked that he was “trying to figure out what it means.”
The two companies go head-to-head when it comes to technological developments and compete for the attention of social media users, but both face a number of challenges.
Last month, Snap announced it was cutting 20% of its workforce, and its shares have plunged more than 75% this year due to a frosty digital advertising landscape and poor earnings reports.
