The Metaverse is an immersive 3D virtual world platform developed by Meta, the company formerly known as Facebook. It’s accessed with the Occulus Quest headset, a fairly well-designed piece of hardware that’s the product of nearly half a century of VR development.

As advertised, the metaverse appears to be a kinder version of the Matrix, and Zuckerberg and company are betting everything on its success. I have already been there.
