In an apparent attempt to appeal to the general public and sign off on every understandable corporate partnership, Facebook CEO-turned-Meta Mark Zuckerberg has gone to great lengths to market his pricey metaverse as the future of work. Technology is already an integral part of the modern workplace, and many people already work fully remote or hybrid schedules, why? not join your coworkers in virtual or augmented reality, where you and your legless torso can span 12 computer screens?

“The sense of presence you get from VR, even today,” Zuckerberg declared during his Connect 2022 keynote, “may already be better than what you get in video chat.”
