FORT HOOD, Texas–(COMMERCIAL WIRE)–As part of the DOD’s 5G to Next G program effort at Fort Hood, Texas, Oceus successfully completed Phase I and was awarded the follow-on effort for Phases II and III to continue supporting advanced application prototypes and then large-scale deployments to achieve the results of individual projects enabled by 5G technology.

Oceus, as part of the Fort Hood Network Enhancements award, has developed several solutions that are integrated into a 3GPP-compliant 5G core development network. These solutions serve as part of a mobile Cell on Wheels system deployed for live testing and demonstration. The tools currently being delivered are ONmission®, which provides SecDevOps and RF planning, and ONcast®, which provides a virtual private network (VPN) natively compatible with multicast applications. Additionally, Tough Mobile Device-5G (TMD-5G) extends network-enabled devices to the 5G network, providing a variety of interfaces such as Wi-Fi, RS232, and Ethernet to test and support legacy simulation environments.

“This partnership gives the AR/VR program the ability to achieve its test goals and plan for the transition to operational use goals,” said Jeff Harman, president and CEO of Oceus.
