In five years, 40% of large organizations worldwide will use a combination of Web3, cloud AR and digital twins in metaverse projects aimed at growing revenue, research and advisory firm Gartner predicted Monday in his IT symposium in Orlando, Florida.

Gartner’s metaverse prediction was part of a list of the top 10 strategic technology trends released at the event.

The firm sees a metaverse as a “shared virtual collective space in 3D, created by the convergence of virtually enhanced physical and digital reality.” It’s persistent and provides enhanced immersive experiences, he added.
