Web3 entertainment startup Hume has announced an $11.7 million Series A funding round.

The crypto firm’s backers include TCG Crypto, Collab+Currency, Gemini Frontier Fund, Aloe Blacc, Gmoney, and more. Hume says that his approach to web3 technology combines music, digital identity and storytelling to develop virtual artists known as ‘metastars’ who exist in the digital and physical world alike.

Hume’s first metastar, angelbaby, performed live at Art Basel, Fluf Haus LA, and SXSW. Angelbaby also has several #1 songs on the Audius web3 streaming platform and two #1 trending music NFTs on the OpenSea platform.
