Ted Schilowitz, a Paramount Global futurist who is leading the studio’s metaverse activities, says there’s a lot of “head scratching” when trying to figure out why a company like Wal-Mart has felt the need to dive into the metaverse. But Schilowitz says that for him and other companies in Hollywood, the point of diving into these virtual worlds now is to make sure they’re looking at the metaverse beyond “this moment in time.”
