Web developer Mozilla, known primarily for its Firefox Internet browser, has joined the spate of legacy Internet platforms jumping into the Web3 and metaverse development space.
In a blog post announcement on November 30, the company revealed the acquisition of Active Replica, an immersive experience developer.
Active Replica joins Mozilla’s creator platform Hubs to help create virtual events. The virtual experiences developer has already worked with Mozilla during its multi-day Mozfest arts and technology festival earlier this year.
According to Mozilla, the acquisition will also be important in accelerating on-demand work, custom subscription levels, onboarding enhancements, and adding new features to Hubs engines.
