The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of three chambers operating under the Dubai Chambers umbrella, received 153 applications from 27 countries for its newly launched “Future of the Digital Economy: Business in the Metaverse.” academy.
Announced last month in collaboration with the Dubai-based SEE Institute, the specialized training program is designed to equip digital startups with the practical knowledge and tools they need to build and thrive in the metaverse.
Almost 67 percent of the applications were filed by digital companies in the United Arab Emirates, followed by Egypt, India, Jordan, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States. Nearly 30 start-ups will be selected to join the training academy, which will use technology such as virtual, augmented, and extended reality to train participants in the metaverse.
