CES 2023 is finally here to showcase innovations in digital health, Metaverse and Web3
CES 2023 finally kicks off next week in Las Vegas, spotlighting the consumer electronics industry and drawing renewed attention to the growing influence of digital health, Metaverse, and Web3. Forced by the pandemic to go virtual in 2021 and hybrid last year, thousands of showgoers are hoping to return to the packed halls and quick deals that were long a hallmark of the annual gadget extravaganza.
Every year, tech professionals from around the world make a pilgrimage to Las Vegas to try out the latest technology and learn about the latest technological innovations impacting the home, automotive, beauty, health, gaming and more. It’s a fantastic and fascinating experience where most of us feel like kids in a candy store. Last year, it was fun to see how many times exhibitors included the word Metaverse on their stands. This even led to one XR pro’s Twitter thread going viral after walking through the show citing every mention of the word and the results were overwhelming! Despite all that technology has endured in the past year, CES 2023 will put digital health, Metaverse and Web3 at center stage. This time in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).
On a recent episode of the CES Tech Talk podcast, Kinsey Fabrizio, Senior Vice President of CES Membership and Sales for the Consumer Technology Association, shared what to expect at CES 2023. He said there will be a portion of the show dedicated to gaming, the Metaverse, and Web3. in the Central Hall. She revealed that it’s going to be a really exciting part of the show floor with CoinDesk’s Web3 studio located in Central Hall. The studio will interview influential voices from Web3 and will also cover the latest crypto and blockchain news and trends at the show. Central Hall, for CES newbies, is what many consider the traditional CES. It is the area of the LVCC where some of the largest exhibitors usually make an appearance. With Coindesk’s Web3 Studio located in the LVCC Central Hall, it will be a focal point of Web3, Metaverse, and blockchain at CES. CoinDesk will host industry leaders and visionaries as they discuss the most impactful developments that have occurred in industries, technologies, and capabilities.
Healthcare organizations are taking a new interest in this event as providers seek new technologies and strategies to connect with consumers outside of the hospital, clinic or doctor’s office. Additionally, virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR) will feature prominently in Las Vegas this year, as will AI and robotics. And expect remote monitoring tools and platforms to make their presence known in wearable devices that track a wide range of vital signs and activities and the aforementioned smart home technology. In short, while healthcare was once a side benefit or add-on to consumer electronics, it is now part of form and function.
