The metaverse is a compound word of “meta” (μετά, the Greek preposition for “after”) and “verse” of “universe”. In the virtual world of the metaverse, people can interact, work, enjoy leisure activities, and shop with their friends, family, and even strangers through technologies such as VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality).
