A disturbing documentary titled Childhood 2.0 premiered in 2020. Told through amazing interviews with parents and children, it offers a first-hand look at how living online, especially through social media, has altered childhood forever.

Spoiler alert: it’s worse than you might imagine.

At one point, a teenager describes how courtship works today. The interviewer asks her how she knows that she is “dating” someone. “The guy says you’re hot, sort of.” She then adds, “The guy will add you on Snapchat and they might say they like each other, but of course it’s texting, not face to face.”
