Gaming technology company Improbable is creating the infrastructure that underpins Bored Monkeys Yacht Club Otherside, the metaverse platform from creator Yuga Labs.
Improbable CEO Herman Narula seems to have been won over by Web3’s rhetoric, stating that despite being “pretty skeptical” of cryptocurrencies and digital assets, he now sees it as “the only means to monetize and share value efficiently in a metaverse.
Speaking at Web Summit, Narula said that “a metaverse is a network of related experiences, many of which could not live alone.” Instead, she said, “they require the possibility that other experiences exist in space. And sharing value between those experiences is really a challenge.”
