The philanthropic arm of cryptocurrency trading company Binance, Binance Charity, announced today that it has partnered with Women in Tech to provide Web3 vocational training, with a focus on blockchain, for 2,800 women in rural communities in South Africa and Brazil.

Women in Tech is an international organization that promotes diversity in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. She says she has a two-fold mission: closing the gender gap and helping women embrace technology.

According to a press release sent to Hypertext, the training will focus on a wide range of skills for trends in the Web3 space, including “coding, blockchain application, cryptocurrency, decentralization, NFT, Metaverse, tokens, and trading.” .

In addition to these training programs, the Binance Charity has collaborated with technology training company UTIVA in Nigeria to educate 50,000 youth on Blockchain/Web3 and provide scholarships to 1,000 Africans in an intensive one-year skills training program. Binance says that it hopes this training will allow the people who participate to get a job.

Courses are available both online and offline and in varying lengths, from short introductory classes to 12-month commitments. “This is just the beginning of Binance Charity’s educational initiative, more projects will be announced early next year,” the company added in the statement.

The company says it has so far funded 259,180 hours of training and education in classrooms, camps, and community workshops.

In total, Binance Charity says it will offer 67,155 scholarship slots in the countries where it operates, but many of them are not yet open for applications.

“The response to our Web3 education projects is unprecedented, demonstrating the great appetite of many people to learn about blockchain, De-Fi, NFTs, coding and much more. And we are seeing interest from a wide range of people, including a large proportion of women, which is something I am particularly passionate about,” enthused Helen Hai, Director of Binance Charity.

Other projects the Binance Charity is currently working on include professional training for 10,000 people, including a specific course for 2,000 women that narrows the gender gap in the ecosystem and increases the diversity of the talent pool with the Blockchain School. from Frankfurt, Germany.
