In a report on Monday, Bloomberg said Apple’s (NASDAQ:) highly-anticipated mixed-reality headset will make an ambitious attempt to create a 3D version of the iPhone’s operating system.

The headsets will have eye and hand tracking systems that could differentiate the technology from rival products, Bloomberg reports.

The device will reportedly be priced as a premium product around $3,000 and will be available later this year, and the name will likely be Reality Pro, they add. Furthermore, the post claims that Apple will take a new approach to virtual meetings and immersive video to shake up the VR industry.

Apple’s technology development team is said to have spent more than seven years on the project, and Apple saw it as a new source of revenue.

However, as Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:) has found so far, VR headsets have yet to appeal to a broader audience, despite some projecting big things for the industry.

According to Bloomberg sources, the report says Apple is aiming to bring something new to the table with its eye, with manual tracking capabilities said to be a major selling point for the earphones.

Some of the device’s features reportedly include FaceTime-based video conferencing and meeting rooms, the ability to display immersive video content, the ability to serve as an external display for a connected Mac, and the ability to replicate many iPhone features. and iPad. The headset will include several external cameras to analyze a user’s hands and sensors to read the eyes.
