Apple’s long-awaited AR/VR headset has been delayed yet again according to supply chain data compiled by Ming-Chi-Kuo.
The analyst believes that the company is fixing software issues and could launch the device in the second half of 2023.
Last week, Bloomberg detailed upcoming headsets that will run on the “xrOS” platform, rather than “realityOS.” Kuo says that changes and bugs within xrOS could be the reason Apple delayed shipping the headphones.

The speculated January launch date for the AR/VR headset seems unlikely to Kuo and could be “detrimental to promotion and sales.”
It even forecasts that the product will be quite specific with production of “less than 500,000 units” in 2023. Other analysts have ranged production units between 800,000 and 1.2 million units.
