Apple will introduce its long-rumored AR/VR headset at WWDC 2022, but won’t ship the device until 2023, according to a prediction from analyst Gene Munster.

While it won’t be ready for sale, we think WWDC 2022 is the most likely time for Apple to preview its mixed reality headset. Mixed reality is a level of wearable computing that sits between VR and AR. In MR you can “see” the actual word through computer vision, projected on a screen that covers your eyes. While revenue won’t kick in until 2023, Apple’s headphone reveal will be a powerful statement that it means business when it comes to the metaverse.
