San Francisco, May 30: Tech giant Apple is reportedly planning to release RealityOS for its upcoming augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR) headsets.
According to a report by The Verge, RealityOS has appeared in a trademark filing, “which has not been officially filed by Apple, but it is common practice for large companies to apply for trademarks under a single company.”
Headsets powered by RealityOS will be able to deliver a mix of virtual reality and augmented reality experiences, immersing users in virtual content and overlaying virtual elements on real-world environments.
The trademark application is the latest evidence that Apple is about to announce its long-rumored headphones, the report mentions.
Earlier this month, the company’s board of directors reportedly tested the wearable device, which is common practice before a public launch.
AR headsets are expected to be stylishly designed to be lightweight and comfortable for the wearer to roam for extended periods.
Reports mentioned that the company could officially announce this new operating system for the headset during its Annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC).
Meanwhile, the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) kicks off on June 6 for more than 30 million Apple developers around the world.
WWDC22 helps developers and designers explore the latest technologies, tools, and frameworks coming to IOS, iPadOS, MacOS, TvOS, and WatchOS.
