Companies and individuals from various industries are spending up to $1.5 million on their virtual plots as NFTs and cryptocurrencies continue to try to break into the mainstream.
However, as highlighted in a BBC report, this record investment has coincided with a drop in property prices in the metaverse. This also comes as Meta’s attempts to create its own metaverse publicly fail, with the social media giant finding little success in the field.
