By contrast, Denver-based Crusoe Energy has set itself the goal of helping Oman, a gas-rich nation in the Middle East, reduce the amount of gas it flares. Gas flaring is a term that refers to the flaring of natural gas associated with oil production.

Crusoe Energy has revealed that it plans to start a prototype project in Muscat, Oman, to reuse energy from gas flaring to power mining computers.

By the year 2030, the nation of Oman aims to significantly reduce or completely eliminate the practice of gas flaring.
