The Alibaba Cloud Hong Kong IDC Zone C server suffered an outage on Saturday night around 10 pm ET and has not been able to recover for more than seven hours since the time this report was published. The blackout occurred at approximately the same time.

OKEx, a cryptocurrency exchange, experienced service delays as a result of a hardware failure that occurred in one of Alibaba Cloud’s Hong Kong data centers.

According to the data displayed on the Alibaba Cloud website, the Hong Kong, China-based server is currently capable of operating three availability zones, and has been doing so since 2014.

The cloud computing service provider issued a formal statement confirming the outage and saying they were working to resolve the issue.

OKX made the announcement at the same time as reporting the service outage that it is working with Alibaba Cloud to find a way to fix the issues that have been occurring.

Meanwhile, customers are unable to withdraw or deposit money, and some have reported that an issue caused their account balances to falsely reflect $0 in the funds area of ​​their accounts. This is due to the fact that the system is now experiencing technical difficulties. Several investors have confirmed that the deals they were working on stalled in the middle of the process, and several of them have raised concerns about possible financial problems. losses.

In early December, Avalanche blockchain began working with Alibaba Cloud to establish a partnership that would allow the latter to provide power for the former’s node-as-a-service efforts.

The purpose of the collaboration is to develop new technologies with the intention of launching validator nodes on the public blockchain platform offered by Avalanche for Asia.

Due to this binding, Avalanche developers will be able to build new validators using the plug-and-play infrastructure as a service provided by Alibaba Cloud.

It was revealed that Avalanche hosts over 1,200 validators and processes around 2 million transactions daily during the course of the announcement.
