WASHINGTON — Unlikely US Defense & National Security, a technology firm looking to enter the defense sphere, has closed its doors.

Improbable Defense is a subsidiary of Britain-based Improbable, which bills itself as “the technology company of the metaverse.” The company’s website claims to have more than 1,000 employees worldwide and an investment of $600 million. Its defense arm, which has been largely focused on creating a military metaverse, began telling staff late Thursday that it was shutting down, and the subsidiary was expected to officially close its doors earlier this week.
