NVAK COLLECTIVE, record company and Web3 artist advocate, has appointed veteran music industry executive NIKISHA BAILEY as general manager, overseeing A&R, marketing and label operations, reporting to co-founders TAMAR KAPRELIAN and ALEX SALIBIAN.
Commenting on the appointment, SALIBIAN said: “No matter what she does, as an executive, businesswoman, people manager and philanthropist, NIKISHA stands by her lifelong commitment to music first and foremost. She demonstrates an invaluable creative perspective for this new publication.”
BAILEY added: “Creating a safe space for creatives has always been at the core of what I do. NVAK has established itself as an industry leader that truly cares about the entire artist, not just the product. We are innovating how creatives monetize themselves and their art to not only prepare for the here and now, but also for the future.”
the ST. The LOUIS native also serves as Vice President of THE RECORDING ACADEMY’s NY chapter and is an ambassador for the BLACK MUSIC COLLECTIVE (BMC). She is also the owner of one of PHILADELPHIA’s renowned coffee brands and community space, W/NW/N COFFEE BAR, and is co-chair of the WOMEN IN MUSIC DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION COUNCIL.
BAILEY began her career as an intern at ATLANTIC RECORDS before rising to Head of A&R Administration, Associated Artists with the label, working on key records for such talents as KEHLANI, CHARLIE PUTH and BAZZI, among many others. She also held the position of VP / A & R Administration & Operations for ARTIST PARTNER GROUP (APG) based in Los Angeles.
NVAK COLLECTIVE is a record label and artist advocacy collective using web3 technology to drive change for creators, with a focus on serving non-binary, female LGBTQ+ talent from emerging markets such as WEST ASIA, the MIDDLE EAST and NORTH AND EAST AFRICA.
