The commercial service version of GameChain’s Locus Chain, a blockchain specifically tailored for online gaming to reduce server costs, has been successfully integrated into online gaming.

Seoul, South Korea – Bloom Technology, the developer of the next-generation blockchain platform Locus Chain, will launch the world’s first serverless online game ‘Kingdom under fire: War of Heroes (Gold Edition)’ at 4:00 p.m. December 6ththe (Pacific time).


Kingdom Under Fire: War of Heroes was released in the winter of 2000 and was the first game to apply a hero system in an RTS (real-time strategy) genre. It set a record for the most pack sales in South Korea, touted as the main competitor to the blockbuster game StarCraft at the time. For the first time in a home game, it faced many technical challenges, such as embedding a Python script and using a high-color VQ image compression method. The game operated a Wargatenet server that supports ladder games, league matches, and tournaments for network players. The first version of the game was released in more than 30 countries around the world and sold more than 500,000 copies.


Locus Chain’s GameChain, a technology that has been used in the upcoming KUF released on Steam as the modern version of the game, replaces the online game server with the Locus Chain’s blockchain network, allowing users to play games online on anytime, anywhere, without an editor or developer. This is a major milestone for Locus Chain, ushering in the era of cheap server costs for online gaming. Numerous online games are expected to join the Locus Chain ecosystem in the future with the aim of benefiting by addressing the issue of rising server costs.
