Metaverse travel service provider ANA NEO has partnered with stakeholders in Hokkaido to promote digital and in-person travel to Japan’s northern prefecture.
The Tokyo-based company aims to deliver new travel experiences in the metaverse and has announced its plan to build out Hokkaido content following its successful digitization of Kyoto on its digital platform, ANA GranWhale, earlier this year.
ANA GranWhale allows users to “view and study cities and regions of Japan, as well as make online purchases from the locations they explore,” an ANA Neo spokesperson said, adding that other regions will be launched on the platform.
