The European Commission’s foreign aid department splurged 387,000 euros to throw a party in the metaverse on Tuesday night in a bid to get young people excited about the EU, but only five turned up, Politico reported.

“I’m here at the EU foreign aid department’s €387k metaverse gala concert (designed to attract 18-35 year olds with no political commitment),” Devex correspondent Vince Chadwick tweeted. “After initial bewildered chats with the other five humans that showed up, I’m on my own..”
