But the consensus view, at least today, is that the metaverse is the next iteration of the internet, where the internet becomes something people dive deeper into rather than something they just see: an evolution of 2 -D to 3-D. through a variety of interfaces, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). As with other transformative technologies such as cloud and AI, whose evolutions span decades, the early consumers and leaders of the metaverse, including investors and CEOs, will shape its future.
