Last week Twitter laid off almost 50% of its global workforce, with 90% of them working in India, but the current week saw 11,000 Meta employees receive pink slips, some of them three days later. to join Facebook’s parent company.

Other tech giants — Google, Amazon, Microsoft and a few others — have frozen hiring for now, hinting at the worst to come. Microsoft has been cutting its workforce in phases, while Netflix and Snapchat have already laid off thousands of employees this year.
