I’ll state the obvious. Unless we’re in “The Matrix” or characters in “Horton Hears a Who,” there’s no more “meta” universe than the one we’re in. Of course, real life is not the metaverse that everyone talks about. Or is that it? Last time I checked, no one really knows.

What is clear is that we are experiencing a technological trend of digital and physical convergence that will shape our future. Physical-digital convergence can be as simple as a Snapchat filter, which my kids showed me because I don’t use Snapchat. Or a game of Pokémon Go on your phone by searching for virtual items in real locations.
