Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg’s ambitious Metaverse platform has yet to gain the same traction as existing platforms Facebook and Instagram, according to internal documents.
Tech giant Horizon Worlds’ metaverse offering isn’t living up to expectations as parent company Meta has adjusted internal monthly user goals from 500,000 to 280,000.
The current count, according to the Wall Street Journal, is 200,000, well below the 3.6 billion active users on Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp.
Internal documents also revealed that many visitors to Horizon Worlds were leaving after the first month, and only nine percent of the worlds within the platform had been visited by at least 50 people.
