Mark Zuckerberg is enlisting help to inch his vision of the metaverse closer to reality.
On Friday, Meta and Qualcomm Announced are teaming up to design custom chipsets for Meta virtual reality headsets that they believe could power “a new era of spatial computing.” The multi-year deal between the two companies will see Meta’s Quest headset powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon technology. The deal means that Meta, unlike other competitors like Google and Apple, won’t ship hardware with its own processor for the foreseeable future.
