For the first time, Kolkata’s Durga Puja festival is entering the world of the Metaverse, a 3D computer-simulated environment, which will allow people to virtually walk through four high-value community puja, communicate with other ‘pandal hoppers’ and even click in pictures. .
The purpose-built 3D platform, xpand-land.com, will allow visitors to enter a shared social space where people from all over the world can meet from the comfort of their homes.
This is an initiative of the Indian startup XP&D, its Metaform group company, and another company, Spatial. This year, there will be no fee to enter the platform which will open on Thursday.
