The metaverse is the latest craze within the Big Tech surveillance economy. According to Gartner projections, by 2026, 25% of the world’s population will log into the metaverse for at least an hour a day, whether to shop, work or socialize. Regarding access to the metaverse for enterprises, Gartner analyst Mark Ruskino pushes the start date up to the 2030s.
